A celebrated military hero back from a war that helped redeem the galaxy, Trent McGovern is silent about his suffering with PTSD - he risks being ostracized by the people of Baal, his home planet. As a deadly plague grows in intensity on Baal, and Trent’s bloody visions get worse, he becomes inspired to take a vacation to The Paradise Planet, a new luxury resort where he hopes to heal.
The Resort is everything that Trent hoped it would be, until the guests start to go missing. The shocking reality of what is taking place at The Resort, all in hopes of finding a cure for the plague - known as Hollyhock - is brought to light because of Trent’s bravery, ingenuity, and courage. But once the secrets are revealed, how far is Trent willing to go to spread the truth? It might not just be the guests of the Paradise Planet, but also the citizens of Baal that must rely upon his fortitude and courage to heal.
The Paradise Planet eBook Stephen Patterson
This short novel might be suitable for "Young Males", but will disappoint adult readers. The overall premise has a bit of promise, but overall I found it to be an unsatisfactory story. The reference to photographers' "flash bulbs", near the end of a story about space travel and the ultra-wealthy, was particularly awkward.
Nevertheless, I encourage the author to hone his or her writing skills.

The Paradise Planet eBook Stephen Patterson Reviews
Editors pick, my first free book. Free is always good
This one is the best and was only a few quid. It’s not too long and has lots of good photos. This book provides lots of insider info and now I am even more including to visit the country. This story reminds me of the Doctor Who story Kinda, or if you prefer Star Trek episodes, The apple, the Paradise Syndrome, or This Way to Eden. Highly recommend to all my friends who plan to visit paradise. I like this book very much
Basically a good book. Enjoyed the characters and plot. Not a real "page-turner", but did hold my interest.
A great science fiction story book. It is not too long. The characters are multifaceted. And I like journey of Trent McGovern.
You will feel the rhythm of a perfect science fiction story in this book.
A great Piece of writing from Stephen Patterson . The reading of this novel left me in a different mood.Trent is the main character in this story . Baal was the planet on which everyone wanted to live . But Trend didn't belief that until he went out of the galaxy for war and saw other planets . This book tells the incidents happening in his life and his surrounding .What makes Paradise is its ability to hold the reader up to a mirror and cause him/her to gaze deeply into a looking glass. Its is the best friction story , I ever reed .I love this one so much..It is very Entertaining .
Well written but I thought the ending left too soon..
This might have been a good book. It might have been an interesting story. However, the skill level of the author prevented either of these two things from happening. When one cannot understand the difference between "shuttering" and "shuddering", or uses words just "off" enough to make the reader beg he find a Thesaurus, then he needs a good proofreader. When his story becomes so jerky and juvenile that it is painful to continue, then he needs a good editor. As another reader has said, this book may appeal to 13 year old boys, but the author's understanding of human interactions seems damaged more than immature. At one point in the story, the military kills all doctors in an experimental lab. They did not save a single one to use for questioning, they did not determine if any of them were unwilling participants, they just sprayed the room with their blood. Huh? And then it simply goes back to a basic narrative. And that was another issue with the book. The whole thing was a narrative, rather that much interaction between characters. And what there was seemed so forced and painful I cringed at times. I kept thinking, surely this would get better, or suddenly the author would interject himself into the story and say "Ha, jokes on you." Nope. Go back top the key board and rewrite, rewrite and then rewrite. You might have a good book then.
